LIANZA’s professional registration scheme is one of the main pathways for sector members to have their commitment to professional standards and professional competence recognised.
For this to occur, the Board seeks sector professionals to help the scheme remain fit for purpose and meet the needs of the profession. Board members play a key role in supporting the operation of the scheme.
The Board currently seeks experienced, professionally registered library and information professionals to step up to join them in this role.
As a Professional Registration Board member, this is your opportunity to support the professional development of other library and information kaimahi and give back to the sector.
Please consider this important role and the part that you can play in supporting the sector members' growth and development.
The Board also plays a role in monitoring other parts of the new LIANZA CPD Pathway and will be assisted by LIANZA’s new Continuing Professional Development and Events Lead.
BOARD MEMBER REQUIREMENTS
The term is for three years, with additional terms approved by the LIANZA Council. Your time commitment would be around five hours per month.
You must be a current personal member of LIANZA, Te Rōpū Whakahau, School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (SLANZA), New Zealand Law Librarians’ Association (NZLLA), International Association of Music Librarians (IAML(NZ)) or Australian NZ Theological Library Association (ANZTLA) and hold current LIANZA Professional Registration.
You also need to have the support of your employer to become a board member.
