Visiting Wellington

Visiting Wellington

While you’re in Wellington, make the most of our other amazing attractions. Try these places when you visit:

Take a tour of Te Papa

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is the perfect way to get an overview of New Zealand’s history, culture and taonga (treasures). Just a 2-minute walk from Tākina, you can visit the collections and exhibitions that showcase what makes New Zealand unique.

Wander the Wellington waterfront
A stone’s throw from Tākina, Wellington’s picturesque waterfront offers a wide footpath that stretches from the Railway Station around to Oriental Bay and beyond. You’ll find sculptures to admire, spots to sit and enjoy an ice cream, or places to dine.

Get a taste of Hannah’s Laneway
Wellington is a renowned foodie hotspot and Hannah’s Laneway is home to some of its favourite artisan products. You’ll find award-winning craft beers at Fortune Favours, incredible cookies at Leeds Street Bakery, world-class pizza at Pizza Pomodoro and more.

Visit Cuba Street
One of Wellington's best-loved streets, Cuba Street is the home of the high/low: dine out on delicious $10 dumplings or a divine degustation at Logan Brown; see the Bucket Fountain or visit contemporary art galleries, or trawl for treasures at the vintage shops.
