TRANSITION REGISTRATION

Transition registration is a one-off opportunity to seek registration, whether or not you hold a qualification. From 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2009 transition membership is available to library and information professionals who qualified in New Zealand or overseas and to library and information professionals who are working here or have worked here. Citizens or residents working overseas can also apply.

Instructions:

  • Applications must include the required fee and documentation. Fellows and Associates are not required to pay the application fee.
  • Please download the application form that applies to you. All forms are in both Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

T1 Transition Registration

Use the T1 application form if you have a New Zealand library or information studies degree or library diploma or certificate and whether or not you are currently working in a library.

Documents required: curriculum vitae, photocopies of relevant New Zealand tertiary qualifications and evidence of current or past library employment.

Non-refundable application fee $56.25 (inc. GST)

T2 Transition Registration

Use the T2 application form if you have a non-library or information studies qualification at bachelor's level or above, and have been working in a professional role in the library and information sector for more than five years.

Documents required: curriculum vitae, photocopies of relevant qualifications, evidence of employment in the library and information sector, a report detailing your professional knowledge in relation to the Body of Knowledge and an assessment of your report written by a registered library and information professional.

T3 Transition Registration

Use the T3 application form if you do not have tertiary library or information studies qualifications or other degrees but have worked in a professional role in the library and information profession for more than 10 years.

Documents required: curriculum vitae, evidence of 10 years professional library or information sector employment, a report detailing your professional knowledge in relation to the Body of Knowledge and
an assessment of your report written by a registered library and information professional

T4 Transition Registration

Use the T4 application form if you have an overseas library or information studies degree, at bachelor’s level or above, and are currently working in a library.

Documents required: curriculum vitae, photocopies of relevant overseas tertiary qualifications, evidence of current library employment and (in some instances) a New Zealand Qualifications Authority international qualification evaluation and a detailed statement of course content.
