The national launch of NgÄ Åªpoko Tukutuku MÄori Subject Headings took place in the early evening of 15 June in the main foyer of National Library of New Zealand Te Puna MÄtauranga o Aotearoa. Approximately 65 people came to celebrate the launch including many that had worked on the project in the early stages.

The Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR) were first published in 1967 followed by a second edition (AACR2) in 1978. The second edition comprised two parts Part 1 Description and Part II Entry and Heading. The last major revision of AACR was in 2002, when it was published only in a loose-leaf format.
