Christine Busby

Christine Busby, Library Manager at Te Puke on how she found her way into libraries

Christine got her start in libraries as a volunteer at Whakatane Library and after deciding a career in library and information management was for her, she moved to Wellington to study towards her Masters in Library and Information Studies at Victoria University of Wellington while working at the Parliamentary Library. 

In her work Christine has been a researcher, a trainer, a marketer and an innovator. She has won the Hydestor Award and a LIANZA scholarship to attend IFLA in Singapore in 2013 where she presented a paper and facilitated a leadership workshop and she has also presented papers to LIANZA conferences and to an Association of Parliamentary Libraries of Australasia conference.

As a member of LIANZA since 2008,  Christine's volunteer work includes serving on two conference committees, Regional Councillor for Te Upoko o Te Ika a Maui and now Waikato/Bay of Plenty and she currently chairs the LIANZA Emerging Leaders Working Group.
