Expressions of Interest for Displays in Libraries Workshop

LIANZA requests expressions of interest in a professional development course about Displays in Libraries.

LIANZA has negotiated with Vince Collins of Impact Displays to deliver a series of workshops on library marketing through the effective and innovative use of displays.

Vince has presented workshops for LIANZA in the past which have always been popular and very favourably received. The workshops use basic low cost materials turning them into eye catching displays.

In this economic recession public library usage is on the rise in New Zealand. People visit their local library for recreational reading, but also for help job hunting and creating their CVs. Learn how your displays can help them do that, and keep them coming back for more. Use your new knowledge about innovative displays to increase your usage stats and wow your institutions!

The course is also targeted at school librarians to promote their school libraries resources and encourage reluctant readers. Come and learn all the tricks to hook your students and once hooked, keep them returning to the library to check out what you've got that's new and exciting!

Proposed dates -

A Wednesday a week, in the months of May, June or July.

I have had a comment from a public library that, because of the end of the financial year for local government, July would be a preferable date for public libraries to attend.

When you email me to indicate your interest please include your preferred month if this is an issue for you.

Course length -

Full day course, 10.00am - 3.30pm. Includes a welcome tea/coffee and lunch.

Estimated cost -

Estimate of registration fee - $157.50 (LIANZA member), $225 (non-member)
Please note that this estimate is based on assumed costs and could change, however I wouldn't expect it to change substantially

Breakeven number -

Based on the estimated costs we would need 16 people registered at any location in order to meet our costs and break even.

If you want to come to this workshop, please use your personal and regional networks to gather support in your area to ensure that there are enough people for the course to run.
