  4. LIANZA Council Appointments 2013-2014

    Following the recent LIANZA Council elections we are pleased to advise members of the following appointments.

    Paula Eskett has been re-nominated as Councillor for the Aoraki region and we welcome Amanda Cooper as the new Councillor for Hikuwai. Both Councillors were appointed unopposed.

  5. 2013 LIANZA Council elections update

    Nominations for the 2013 LIANZA Council elections closed on Friday 26th April 2013.

    The positions of President – Elect, Aoraki Councillor and Hikuwai Councillor all received one nomination so were uncontested. These appointments will be ratified by Council and will be announced on Friday 24 May.

    The Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) is pleased to see the final report on the future structure of Queenstown Lakes District Council indicates that the reduction in library staff hours is not as large as originally proposed however, the reduction of qualified library staff still poses a threat to the integrity of the region’s library services.
