Asset Team Leader - Napier Library

This important position in the Library Management Team leads the team involved in the selection, purchase, cataloguing and processing of new stock, including books and multi-media items for Napier Libraries (Napier and Taradale).

This role also supervises the development of the collections and their maintenance, including de-selection, stocktaking and valuation.

The position is based at the Napier Library

Requirements are:

  • Library qualification, Level 6 preferred
  • Proven leadership skills and enthusiasm for leading a team.
  • High level of knowledge, experience and competence in acquisitions, cataloguing, and collection management in Public Libraries.
  • Competence in computer and information technology
  • Developed knowledge of Bookstock and A/V materials
  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good level of physical fitness
  • Self-motivated and confident to work with minimum direction.
  • Commitment to providing great customer service
