DEAN, LIBRARY SERVICES & UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN After 44 years of innovative teaching, research, and community outreach, Simon Fraser University (SFU) has become a university of choice for students who seek academic excellence and a diverse experience. Today, with three distinctive campuses on Burnaby Mountain, in downtown Vancouver, and an award-winning new facility in Surrey, the University enrolls approximately 5,000 graduate students, and 26,000 undergraduates. At the very heart of the university lies the SFU Library, an award-winning leader in the provision of services, collections, space, and technology of the highest possible quality in support of the research, teaching and learning goals of the Simon Fraser University community. Comprised of three branches—the W.A.C. Bennett Library on the main Burnaby campus, the Samuel and Frances Belzberg Library in the downtown Vancouver campus, and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board Academic Library, in Surrey—and other collections spanning these three campuses and the digital realm, the SFU Library boasts a repertoire of over 2.6 million printed and electronic volumes. It has been hailed as the “Hub of SFU Life” for its unique service offerings, technological innovation, and active participation in the communities it serves.
