Combine your love of teaching and library work with this dynamic role at Avondale Community Library. This is a perfect role for someone who sees the link between libraries, learning, and educational achievement. Akozone Homework centres are targeted at year 5 to 8 students during term times. The primary focus is to work with children in an informal environment, supporting students to find, assess and use the information needed for their homework and learning. In addition, you will network with local schools to establish positive relationships around study support. When not supporting the Akozone programme you will assist with the delivery of front line library customer services. A teaching qualification and experience, preferably with NZ registration is essential along with relevant customer service experience. You need an up to date understanding of the NZ school curriculum, and competency in using IT resources. A passion for youth and community based connections will help you make this role your own.
