We are looking for a Resources Librarian to help develop and provide access to our collection; someone who can catalogue, index or investigate new ways of managing our collections. The Resources team is responsible for the selection, management and supply of the Library's information resources. With a strong client focus, we run an innovative TV replay service and assist with client information requests. Our collections are diverse, with general and specialist collections in different formats Ideally you will have experience in cataloguing, quality control and collection management, with a strong client focus and excellent problem-solving skills. On a typical day you might catalogue a variety of monographs, do quality control on the indexing of a TV news programme, and catalogue an historic tree in the grounds of Parliament. You might also investigate new resources, contribute to collection preservation and conservation initiatives and undertake reference work. You will help coach other Resources staff and have opportunities to develop your management and project management skills. The Parliamentary Library is an amazing heritage building with access to onsite cafes, a crèche and gym. We offer flexible working hours and applications from those wishing to work 20 hours/week or more will be considered. A relevant information qualification or experience and New Zealand residency are required for this position.
