Selwyn District Council is one of the fastest growing and changing regions in New Zealand. The Council employs approximately 150 staff to undertake Library, Regulatory, Engineering, Administration, Resource Management and other general Local Authority activities. The Council is based in Rolleston, 20 minutes drive from central Christchurch.

This is primarily a sole-charge position and the Librarian plays a full range of roles to provide information, education and recreation tools to customers. This is a senior position, requiring experience and judgment to provide a first class service, while enjoying a strong connection with the community. The Librarian will take a place in the Library Management Group, contributing to the design and success of district-wide services.
