This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly professional environment for a pre-eminent commercial law firm in New Zealand.

We seek an experienced, highly motivated Librarian to work in our Auckland office. This role is primarily responsible for providing legal and business research support and training to the lawyers and staff and Management Teams in the Auckland and Wellington Offices. This position also has some responsibility for the development and maintenance of Intranet pages for the Legal Practice Groups and the Library.

Key Responsibilities:
In addition to the responsibilities above, as a member of the firm-wide library reference team, you will:

• Conduct library research training and orientation for graduates, summer clerks and new joiners to the firm.
• Assist with evaluating and selecting electronic and print resources for library collection development purposes.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of team pages on the firm's Intranet
• Assist with training in the use of electronic and manual resources.
• Assist with document delivery and billing and recovery processes.
• Actively participate in and contribute to Library Information Services team meetings and special projects.

Qualifications/Attributes:

• An MLS or recognised Library qualification preferably with some experience in a law firm or corporate library.
• Proficiency in conducting business and legal research using electronic databases, internet, print, inter-library loan and document delivery resources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
• Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple time sensitive and diverse assignments.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the wider team.
• Strong technology skills including familiarity with web editing software and Intranet Technology
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of business, industry and legal resources.
