A Note About Librarylife
I hope you are enjoying Librarylife in it’s current format. After just over seven months producing Librarylife fortnightly, I’ve come to realise that producing, sourcing and collating content and “copy” is demanding work, and is something that I cannot personally sustain as a volunteer every fortnight.
Therefore, I’d like to let you the reader know that my editorial contribution to Librarylife will be moving to once every four weeks with just the core content of important news and information from LIANZA comprising the alternate issues.
Others that have more experience in producing weekly or fortnightly newsletters on a volunteer basis may know that it can be done, but something had to change for me to remain sane and to keep things in balance. While I remain dedicated to the vision of LIANZA to be the “vibrant, vital professional voice for those engaged in Librarianship and Information Management”, I cannot be the only advocate. I need my peers to stand around me in unity with this vision, so collectively, we make a difference. While I myself have a mixture of sadness and relief that Librarylife’s editorial issue will be going to every four weeks, I hope that you will look on this as a realisation that we are all human and as such, it is important to look after yourself and not break your back for the cause.
You come first.
Before I sign out though, I just want to highlight our feature writers in this issue: Michelle, Tony, Sally, Sean and our newest recruits, Claire Stent and Shelley.
Amazing job guys. Thank you team and thank you especially to Claire Taggart, Megan and Alli :)
Now get reading everyone!
