Welcome to the 2014 LIANZA Children's Book Awards!

These medals and pounamu are awarded by librarians for outstanding children's books by New Zealand authors and illustrators. Follow us on Facebook here.

The LIANZA Esther Glen Award for Junior Fiction recognises a distinguished contribution to literature for children aged 0-15 years.

The LIANZA Young Adult Fiction Award recognises a distinguished contribution to literature for children and young adults aged 13 years and above.

The LIANZA Russell Clark Illustration Award is awarded for the most distinguished pictures or illustrations for a children's book.

The LIANZA Elsie Locke Non Fiction Award recognises a distinguished contribution to non-fiction for young people.

Te Kura Pounamu (te reo Māori) recognises Māori authors, illustrators and/ or translators and is awarded annually to the author of a book which makes a distinguished contribution to literature for children or young people written in Te Reo Māori and promotes excellence of library resources in Māori.

The Librarians' Choice medal is awarded to the most popular finalist, as voted by LIANZA members.
