Interloans

Interloan is a national resource sharing cooperative for libraries wishing to share their collection resources for the benefit of their customers and the people of New Zealand.

Joint Standing Committee on Interloan (JSCI)

The Interloan scheme is administered by the Joint Standing Committee on Interloan (JSCI). LIANZA and the National Library of New Zealand provide the members of the JSCI. The JSCI exists to maximise access to library resources in New Zealand through Interloan.

In 2004 the JSCI commissioned a survey of interloan activity, and in 2005 sponsored a series of Interloan Best Practice workshops that were run throughout the country.

The JSCI has re-instated the collection of annual interloan statistics from charter and non-charter interloan libraries from 2004/2005
