TE RŌPŪ WHAKAHAU

Te Rōpū Whakahau is the national body representing Māori within the library and information profession in Aotearoa New Zealand.

LIANZA’s formal partnership with Te Rōpū Whakahau began in 1995 – the goal of this partnership was to provide mutual support and to set a visible example of the partnership principles described in the Treaty of Waitangi.

This partnership structure changed with the new LIANZA governance structure in 2022. LIANZA has made a commitment to work in partnership with Te Rōpū Whakahau at all levels of the organisation, by providing mutual support and a visible example of the partnership principles described in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
